Foot Pain Queries

How can I prevent foot pain in the future?

The best way to cope with foot pain is to do things that’ll help you avoid it in the first place. You can help to prevent foot pain in the future by:

  • Wearing the correct footwear – well fitted, comfortable and has decent support
  • Maintaining good hygiene such as clipping your toes nails frequently and wearing breathable socks and shoes to keep feet well ventilated
  • Keeping a well balanced diet as excess weight can be a factor to foot pain
  • Performing foot and leg stretches everyday
  • Massaging your feet occasionally to relieve the tension and pressure from your feet

I have a pain located at the heel of my foot, what could this be?

The heel of the foot often experiences a lot of sustained pressure, and there are many different types of heel pain. However, plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain.

We would suggest at early stages to use a mixture of methods to help relieve and subside the pain. Some methods that are proven to help are:

  • Resting your feet and keeping them elevated
  • If there is a burning sensation or swelling you can use an ice pack on the area of pain
  • Once you feel the pain lessen, start using stretching methods that will help specifically with plantar fasciitis

We recommend you to read our best treatments for plantar fasciitis section and when you’re ready, head over to collection of heel pain relief products.

My heels and sole ache after a long day standing day at work. Resting them would be great, but I work full time so I have no choice. How can I deal with this situation?

Having general aches and even cramps on the soles and heels of your feet are very common, especially if you work in a standing environment like retail and construction, even more so if you are just standing static.

You can help ease this by having comfortable insoles and shoe inserts which helps to take the pressure away from the affected area by distributing your weight more evenly as well as supporting pressure better.

I jog and run often, but I seem to land on my heels quite often leading them to feel sore after. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain?

High impact sports can lead to your heels taking the brunt of your body weight. Over time, this can start to feel sore and even be disabling, putting your feet out of action.

Heel inserts are a great solution as they help reduce the impact and also spreads the weight more evenly throughout the heel. Our ComfortHeel Gel Cushion Pad inserts are specifically designed for this purpose.
